Hello Autumn
|
My favorite time of year is here and I am so enjoying the sites, sounds, and scents before the big holiday season is upon us.
One awesome experience happened the weekend of Sept. 23 through the 26 which was the first ever sister get-away. I have four sisters and we all went to the Flying W Ranch in Kettelville, PA to go horseback riding in the Allegheny Forest and Mountains. It was heartwarming and victorious for all of us which will make this Autumn extra special.
I wish you special moments this Fall. Enjoy the colors!

Postcards from the Gulf
|
A few weeks ago I saw a post on facebook from Val Webb asking artists to participate in Postcards from the Gulf
to help raise funds for the Alabama coastal cleanup after the worse oil spill disaster we have ever seen. Living on the shores of Lake Erie I know how important it is to keep our waters and shoreline clean for resident and migrating birds, plant life, and even us who reside or vacation our coastal waters.
Val sent to participating artists vintage postcards for us to create art on the message side of the card keeping in mind the theme of the natural beauty of the Gulf Coast region.
From Val's web site: "Each postcard will be matted, backed and placed inside an acrylic sleeve for display at a public reception hosted by the Alabama Coastal Foundation
in early September. One week before the reception, the postcards will be made available for purchase online at $50 apiece. Sales will continue in-person on the night of the reception. All proceeds will go to ACF’s oil recovery work."
The Itinerary:
Alabama Coastal Foundation has completed plans for the public gallery night:
Postcards from the Gulf - Gallery Night
Friday, Nov. 12 from 6-9pm
Room 1927 (the gallery next to the main entrance of the Saenger Theater downtown)
On Oct. 12, the Postcards from the Gulf website will be activated to provide a preview of the collection and info on participating artists.
( You can obtain the web site from the Alabama Coastal Foundation so be sure to check it out..)
On Nov. 5, the Postcards from the Gulf website will enable online purchasing, and postcards may be purchased directly from the site. Pre-sold postcards will be marked with a small sticker during the gallery night, and out-of-town purchases will be shipped on Monday, Nov. 15.
Postcards may be purchased in person at gallery night.

Nice Rendition
|
Back in December ( yes that long ago ) I posted some sneak peaks on my blog but could not reveal the whole piece of art work 'Mrs. Pinocci's Guitar' for the Calligraphy Conference in Easton Massachusetts.
I was one of 60 artist asked to create a calligraphic piece for the book 'Nice Rendition' Cheryl Wheeler's Lyrics in Calligraphy.
( yes you can buy the book. )
My piece I created was Cheryl's song Mrs. Pinocci's Guitar which was created with acrylics and acrylic ink on canvas. The lettering was done with gouache which made it easy to correct any mistakes. Once it was completed I sprayed the piece with UV acrylic spray and then applied a protective varnish.
The book made its debut at the 2010 Calligraphy Conference 'Odyssey' in Massachusetts at Stonehill College the last week in July. I am excited to be part of this project and the exhibit of all the pieces created for the book.

New Zazzle Store!
|
I love Roosters and Hens and eventually I will be filling my kitchen with them. So I am adding my rooster painting image 'A Winged Heart' to mugs for my morning coffee and so can you!
In August I added a Zazzle store to help make your shopping for my art even more fun. And to go with your Rooster mugs I am offering the print 'A Winged Heart'
image size 7 x 10 inches for a limited time at $20 from my Etsy Store. Originally sells for $25. This is a new size for this print which originally was 13 x 15 and sold for $45. All of my prints are printed on archival fine art paper using pigment ink.
Note: sign up for Zazzle announcements to receive notice of sales. Then you can purchase my products on sale.
Everyone have a wonderful Autumn! And be sure to pass my newsletter on to anyone you think would be interested in my art.
Thank you,
Toni
